I just wanted to pass on my gratitude for the 30 day kickstart. I have been doing it on and off since before Christmas and not strictly either. I’ve had stomach ‘things’ for many, many years. I’ve tried all the protocols, all the supplements, all the restrictions!
What I particularly love about your approach is how Elyse is just so matter-of-fact and just so empowering. I love how you just put emphasis on the simple basics of eating and digestion. And I love your no nonsense approach of just chew your food! I love that you give the power back to us and to our own bodies to heal. This approach really really resonates with me because I’ve always struggled with somebody else having the power over my own healing, I’ve always felt that my body knows how to heal. It just needs the right space to do that.
Some of the improvements that I’ve had - I am eating all the things and when I say all the things I mean dairy, gluten everything! A big thing for me was not being able to eat yoghurt or fruit or even sauerkraut. I could have maybe a tablespoon of sauerkraut for one day. If I had it two days in a row I had terrible bloating and terrible stomach pain. But I now have sauerkraut every day. I have yoghurt every day. I’m craving yoghurt every day. I have the sour cream every day. I eat what I want when I want and what I think you’ve really done for me is taking the fear out of food and as a result everything seems to have just calmed down. Chewing has become a big thing and I think that’s made one of the biggest impacts of change for me. I’ve also noticed that whilst I still get some bloating throughout the day - and for me I really think the bloating is connected to stress because of my job not because of food - whilst I still get some bloating it’s able to calm down a lot quicker than before so in the past I would get bloated and that was it. I was done for the day and I would be bloated until the next day, but I can actually feel things calming down. I don’t panic as much about it. I don’t worry so much about my stomach anymore so it’s been amazing. And as I said I haven’t been doing it strictly I’ve been doing what feels good when it feels good. I’ve been doing the bicarb quite religiously for a couple of weeks now and I love the cabbage juice - I’m actually I’m quite addicted to it. The taste is just amazing - I do a mix of green and purple cabbage.
Bowel motions have also been firmer and not as frequent - in the past I would go up to 6 times a day and quite loose. Big improvement here!!
